I've been an Amateur radio operator since January 1995 and I earned my General class license in April of that year. The rest of this page describes my gear and points to some essential HAM WEB sites.

My favorite HAM activity is operating Morse code on 20/40/80 meters - although I haven't been on the air in some time - especially since leaving my rig in the states for safekeeping. My HF rig is a Kenwood TS-850SAT that has both 500Hz filters. It is an incredibly reliable rig that is loaded with options - love those buttons.

A3S multi-band antenna with 40 meter attachments (not pictured). This bristling beauty normally sits atop a Wilson 40 foot crank/tilt tower (bought used and lovingly restored and glavanized) and a 10 foot mast. Unfortunately for now it is in storage awaiting my return to the states. I also operated from a long-wire to pull in 80 and 160 meter signals.

I also operate mobile and hand-held 2 meter radios. My primary radio is a Yaesu FT-2400 which pushes a healthy 50 watts. I use it most often in the shack supported by a Daiwa RS-300 power supply and a Cushcraft A148-3S yagi antenna (also formerly atop my Wilson tower).

My hand-held unit is a Kenwood TH-79A featuring both 144 and 440 MHz bands.
